Discover the Bex saltworks !

Nowadays, a few kilometres of this huge labyrinth can be visited. The tour gives you an insight into the most spectacular and most characteristic salt mining methods employed since 1684, when the first gallery was excavated, until now.

Relive the tercentenary history of salt and the mine via an exhibition and an audiovisual presentation (in English among other languages). The projection takes place in an ancient brine reservoir dug out in 1826.

The hotel Le Cèdre is situated in Bex, a village of the Chablais region, on the bank of the Rhone and only a few km from the ski region of Diablerets in Switzerland.

By car :
Arriving on the motorway A9 from Lausanne or Sion take the exit n° 19-Bex and follow direction Bex. At the roundabout by the train station turn right and at the crossing right once more. The hotel is situated at 100 m on the left.

By train :
Bex train station, at a distance of 800 m from the hotel, is located on the railway line between Geneva and Brig. All IR trains (InterRegio) are stopping.

By plane :
From Geneva airport, at a distance of 115 km, take the motorway direction Lausanne, Sion and follow then above instructions.
By public transport, direct trains go as far as Bex.

From Zurich airport, at a distance of 240 km, drive direction Bern, Vevey, Sion and follow then above instructions.
By public transport, you can reach Bex train station with change in Lausanne or Visp.

From Milano-Malpensa airport , at a distance of 270 km go as far as Domodossola and continue via the Simplon pass or by rail transport via the Simplon tunnel as far as Brig and follow then above instructions.
